Last Sunday, September 24th saw Team DOTS volunteers setting up firstly on The Strand in London, followed by a second station in Kent.
Two teams, two stations, fifteen dogs and thirteen hours of hard work and doggy love and we couldn’t have been happier providing our services including veterinary care, grooming and training.
Here are our two dream teams that made all the difference this week.
SO FIRST UP, STATION 1; THE STRAND, LONDON
Handsome Gunner was our first pup of the day and he had no hesitation in jumping straight in to a warm bubble bath! After a quick check with the vet, he was on his way again but this time all clean and smelling fresh, with some essential items all bagged up for him…
Ahhh lovely Fizz, such a special, gentle lady. She too enjoyed a bubble bath and blow dry before having a weight management consultation. She collected some food, cutting back on the number of treats but still enough healthy options to make her smile.
This week Lola popped along specifically for a weight management consultation and wahoo! She’s managed to lose some unhelpful pounds. Lola is soon to be starting a second round of hydrotherapy for her elbow dysplasia so keeping excess weight off is crucially important.
What a Babe!
We all know who this is…Babe! this smiley gal came along for a vet check and to collect some of her regular meds…Babe is another one who is in need of shedding some pounds and she too is doing well with this!
Look at those chops on this gorgeous lad! He enjoyed his very first bubble bath before having a full health check including flea and worming treatments. We had him kitted out with a new coat, harness, loads of food and essentials. We’re expecting him next week for his boosted vaccination.
Poor little lass had conjunctivitis so was swiftly seen by the vet team who supplied some ointment to clear that up in no time. She may be small, but we still pulled together a whopping bag of treats and toys for her. We’ll be checking her eye condition next week…
Birthday boy Spike!
Happy birthday to this loveable hound this week! Spike is still healing from his recent op that you so generously helped us fund, that has potentially saved his sight. Of course, being his birthday we made sure he had a birthday cake to chomp on…
OFF TO KENT…
The second street station of the day welcomed another 8 doggies into DOTS services…
First up, Kye!
Because the lovely Fee and her Pamper Camper joined us on this second leg of the day, all pooches were able to have a nice warm bubbly bath and Kye was keen to jump right in! after that he had a health check including a specific check on his paw before being fitted with a new super duper harness and a bag of healthy grub and treats.
Peek-a-boo, it’s Pride!
A lovely pooch who we funded to be neutered recently. Glad to say he has recovered well and was fully health checked before claiming a big bag of essentials and goodies.
Oooh those eyes. You can have anything you want mister! Newbie Paddy went straight in for a health check for some lumps that his daddy has been concerned about. We have suggested that he needs some further checks which we will be arranging and of course funding. But for now, Paddy enjoyed a lovely soothing bath and received a big bag of yummies.
Eeeeeks, can you deal with the cuteness?? Reggie’s lovely mummy cooks over 60 roast dinners for the soup kitchen in Chatham, for the homeless community. Reggie came to see us in need of microchipping which we of course did then and there, making sure we got our fill of cuddles too…
Good golly, it’s Dolly!
Pretty poochie Dolly was straight into the bath while DOTS founder Michelle got chatting to her dad who was overcome with gratitude for DOTS. After her scrub a dub dub, Dolly was treated to a big bag of foodie treats and toys for the week ahead…
Well it is Autumn, so what better doggy to meet than Pumpkin? He popped straight into the bath before a health check and picking up all his favourite essentials. See you again soon lovely boy!
Brothers Drax and Rogue
These handsome boys both had their first ever baths, and we think they very much enjoyed! They both also received some training and of course all the essentials they could possibly need to see them through the weeks ahead.
Wow wow wow! 15 doggies seen to. Time to put our feet up…until next time 🙂
